After ensuring the safety of Hillcrest, we once again set out to face the Necromancer at his manor in the woods.
As we approached, everything looked normal, no undead lurking about. We approached the Manor slowly and when we reached the door, a spectral figure appeared, taunting us to enter. Knowing we were entering a trap, Faolan chose to enter the window into the study, rather than go through the front doors with the rest of his party.
Encounter several undead from the multiple rooms. Elyria nearly dies.
We then proceeded downstairs and again encountered several undead from 2 separate rooms. We managed to make quick work of them and proceeded on.
Upon rounding the corner, we were entered a large room with what appeared to be remnants of a cathedral. There were all sorts of ritual markings on the walls and floor to which Yohan immediately recognized as having to do with raising the dead.
The Necromancer laughed and sent about 15 undead in our direction.
Yohan cast Freezing cloud and dispatched most of them. The rest of the party cleaned up the rest of the undead that Yohan left behind.
The Necromancer, seeing lots of his minions fall at the hands of a wizard, rose 2 more zombies in front of him.
Yohan, not to be outdone, conjured a flaming sphere in front of the Necromancer that started dishing out damage to everything next to it.
Eventually, the undead were disposed of and Faolan attacked with a fatal blow to the necromancer.
We looted his body, retrieving Bloodthread robes which the party gave to Yohan, a wand of Burning Hands which Merric claimed, as well as a key. We presumed the key would unlock the door at the back of the room, but before we could discuss it, Faolan stole the key from Merric and unlocked the door. Inside we found the corpse of the Eladrin wizard we came here to rescue.
